Dr. Brad Long is Associate Professor of Management, specializing in business ethics and leadership, and is currently the Department Chair of Business Administration at StFX's Gerald Schwartz School of Business. In 2009, he received the “Outstanding Teaching Award” from StFX. Brad's research articles have been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Organizational Change Management, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, Education + Training, and Critical Perspectives on International Business, and he has articles published in several books. Brad has made close to two-dozen presentations at academic conferences and is a frequent peer-reviewer for internationally recognized journals. Brad's expertise has resulted in numerous invitations to be a workshop presenter/facilitator and panelist on the topics of business ethics, authentic leadership and human resource management. Brad is also active in many roles on the StFX campus in his service on departmental and university committees, as well as the academic union - StFXAUT - for which he now serves as Past-President (previously President and Chief Negotiator). In addition, he managed a refugee sponsorship program at StFX for ten years. Brad's community volunteerism includes roles as Treasurer and current Board President for L'Arche Antigonish and a past Ethics Committee member for the local health authority (GASHA). Brad joined StFX in 2002 after eight years in the private sector in progressively senior management positions in industries ranging from aerospace to information technology to consulting. He has degrees from Queen's University (BA Hon. Political Science), York University (MBA), Saint Mary's University (PhD) and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA).
