James Brendan Murphy was born Oct. 12 1954 and is married with two children. He is currently a professor in the Department of Earth Sciences of St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, NS, Canada. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, and Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.
