 GUIDELINES

  1. Choose one of the topics listed separately  for your term paper. (follow the link "TOPICS", below)
  2. Your paper should include a review the literature which provides the background for the topic you have chosen. You should, as well, discuss any unresolved issues, unanswered questions, criticism or controversies that might be the basis of future research. Be specific in discussing what additional research could be undertaken. Note the marking scheme provided. Use it as a guide in constructing your paper.

PLEASE NOTE

  1. All essays must be typed ( word processor) and double spaced.
  2. You must keep a hard copy of the final draft of your paper.
  3. Consult the APA style handout available at the Bookstore. Information on how to reference material Material obtained online can also be found at  the APA site: http://www.apa.org/journals/webref.html
  4. Your reference list should include at least eight and preferably more references. They should be recent and from professional journals.
  5. Consult the reference librarians for assistance in locating material. They  are more than willing to provide assistance.
  6. In locating material, you will probably wish to consult  online material e.g., Google Scholar. The reference librarians will guide you in searching online. Remember - do not use material which is too old unless you have some good reason for doing so. Psychology, like any other science, changes a lot and older material may well be out-of-date.
