TAPESTRY

Cultural Mosaic

This collection of tapestries date primarily from the early years of my studio practice. I employed architectural forms as metaphors to indicate a human presence in a natural landscape. The environment in which the architecture exists is defined by textile references and patterns - particulalry those of the kilims created by nomadic weavers in the Middle East, and of Kente Cloth woven by many cultures in western Africa.
