Any artwork begins with inspiration.

The initial inspiration for Bitter Harvest came from a medieval European ivory statuette base carved with the figures of Eve and the Serpent in the Garden of Eden.

This carving is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and is on display at The Cloisters.
