Until the new changes are fully implemented, here are the course patterns that would normally be followed:

2000-01 Calendar
Bachelor of Information Systems
The Bachelor of Information Systems degree is offered by the department through the Faculty of Arts.  The normal sequence for the degree is shown below. Students with credits for a high school computer programming course may be granted permission to take INFO 151and 152 in their first year.

Year 1:   INFO 130; ECON 100; 18 credits of electives;
Year 2:   INFO 150; MATH 201, 205; BSAD 221, 222, 231, 261; 6 credits of electives;
Year 3:   INFO 215, 315, 316, 335; BSAD 321, 341, 361, 381, 6 credits of electives;
Year 4:   INFO 415, 416, 465, 475, 3 credits of 400 level INFO elective, CSCI 365, 375; 3 credits of BSAD electives; 6 credits of electives.

2001-02 Calendar
Bachelor of Information Systems (when all the changes are implemented)
The Bachelor of Information Systems degree is offered by the department through the Faculty of Arts.

Year 1:   INFO 130; 151,  315, BSAD 101, 102, ECON 100, 6 credits of Arts electives;
Year 2:   INFO 152; 316, 325, STAT 201, MATH 205; BSAD 221, 222, 231, 6 credits of Arts electives;
Year 3:   INFO 215 or 346 or CSCI 383, 416, 6 credits of INFO electives, CSCI 254 or 383, and 3 credits chosen from 383, 445, 483, 485, 495; BSAD 261, 361, 6 credits of Arts electives;
Year 4:   INFO 415, 465, 475, 3 credits of 400 level INFO elective, 6 credits of open electives; 12 credits of Arts electives.

For 2001-02 (for current students)
Year 1: INFO 130; 151, 315, BSAD 101, 102, ECON 100, 6 credits of Arts electives;

Year 2: INFO 151, 152, 315, STAT 201, MATH 205; BSAD 221, 222, 231, 6 credits of Arts;

Year 3: INFO 215 or 346 or CSCI 383, 325, 416, 6 credits of INFO electives, CSCI 254 or 383, and 3 credits chosen from 383, 445, 483, 485, 495; BSAD 321, 341, 361;

Year 4: INFO 325, 415, 416, 465, 476, 3 credits of 300-400 level INFO elective, 6 credits of open electives.  CSCI 254 or 383, and 3 credits chosen from 383, 445, 483, 485, 495;
 

4.7.1 Bachelor of Information Systems with Major

The course pattern for the BIS with major degree is shown below. The sequence is shown in section 7.18.
 

Business Administration 101, 102, 221, 222, 231, 261, 361 (current students do not have to take 101 & 102 but must complete 21 credits in BSAD)
Computer Science 254 or 383 (with the permission of the chair) and 3 credits  chosen from 383, 445, 483, 485,495
Economics 100
Information Systems 130, 151, 152, 215 or a second computer language, 315, 325, 415, 416, 465, 475, 476
Information Systems Electives 12 credits in 3xx/4xx INFO courses
Statistics/Mathematics 201, 205
Arts/Science Electives 30 credits including 12 credits in each of two subjects; credits in BSAD, MATH and CSCI may not be included in these electives.
Open Electives 6 credits
