Professor Terry O'Mahoney.

Professor. M.M. from University of Miami.

Professor O'Mahoney coaches jazz ensembles, teaches jazz and classical

percussion, and teaches World Music.

Terry is active as an adjudicator and clinician and his articles and

reviews have appeared in Percussive Notes and Modern Drummer magazines.

His first book, “Motivic Drum Set Soloing” is available from

Hal Leonard Publishing.

His second book, "Jazz Drumming Transitions," is also now

available from Hal Leonard Publishing.

His compositions are published by Per-Mus Publications (Columbus,OH).

He endorses Bosphorus Cymbals and

Vic Firth drum sticks.

Audition Procedure

Auditions are by appointment. Please e-mail me (tomahon@stfx.ca) or phone (902-867-5123) to set up an appointment. Please use the word “Audition” in the subject line of your e-mail to prevent it from being deleted as spam. Please follow the “Audition Application Requirements” and “Audition Form” links for more information about the audition itself. Students will be notified of their acceptance by mid-April.

All auditions are held in my office (Gilmora Hall, Room 209). Please bring sticks, brushes, and any music you wish to perform. You are not required to bring cymbals or drums.
