Travel
to Antigonish:
How to get to Antigonish
The easiest way to Antigonish
from within the Maritimes is by automobile. From outside the Maritime provinces,
it is best to fly to the international airport in Halifax, Nova Scotia
(about 200 km/2 hours driving time away from Antigonish), and continue
by car or bus.
-
From Fredericton/Moncton/Sackville
New Brunswick, take Highway 2 (TransCanada highway) east, which becomes
#104 as you enter Nova Scotia. Turn left at the first set of traffic lights
(at exit 32 in Nova Scotia)
-
From Halifax take Hwy 102 in
the direction of Truro. Continue just past Truro to Exit 15 and turn right
on to Highway 104. Continue for approximately 110 km to Antigonish. Turn
left at exit 32; the buildings that you will see on your right are those
of St Francis Xavier University
-
From Halifax Airport. As 2)
above. Bus transportation to Antigonish is available, but must be arranged
for at least three days in advance. (Please contact the conference organisers
in advance if you require this service.) Major automobile rental services
(Avis, Hertz, etc.) are available at the airport.
-
From Sydney, take Highway 104
(TransCanada highway # 104 west) Turn right at the second set of traffic
lights (at exit 32)
