A PROPOSED VINCULUM BETWEEN THE METAPHYSICAL
AND THE TRANSCENDENTAL
BEATTIE, Alastair
The idealistic quality of metaphysics was revived as a working concept
in physics by the recognition of the quantum vacuum after the work of Heisenberg
and Bohr. Empirical idealism as such was extended into psychological empiricism
by Jung and Pauli. Transcendental metaphysics may be approached from an
empirical point of view in terms of mathematical probablility and physical
potential. A vinculum between empirical metaphysics and the transcendental
is briefly outlined by means of reifying some basic definitions so that
the 20th Century empirical paradigm may be more clearly understood.
