Purpose: The study of major authors and themes in philosophy, particularly those found in the work of Jacques Maritain.

Activities: There are two meetings each year. There is a symposium on a general theme in philosophy, organized in association with the Congress of the Humanities and the Social Sciences and usually held at the beginning of June each year. There is also a meeting in the fall of each year, devoted to an aspect of Maritain's work. Conferences and symposia take place in French and English.

The next meeting of the Association will take place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, November 2-3, 2001, on the theme of "Maritain and the limits of science." For more information, please click here.

The Association will also meet on May 26 and 27, 2002, at the University of Toronto, on the theme of "Science, religion, and philosophy." The call for papers for this meeting can be found here. Please contact Prof. William Sweet for further information.
