Daniel Campbell, son of Charles and Mary Ann, is described in his Casket obituary as a resident of the “old Gulf Road”.  He died “after a lingering illness.” There is little information on his life. In 1871, Dan was listed as 26 years old and living with his parents. This creates a discrepancy between his age given in the census and on the tombstone.  The family’s assets included a barn, carriage, two cars/wagons/sleds, and a plow and cultivator. He left a widow and three children to mourn his loss.
