Elizabeth Fraser Dimensions: 43.5”x20”x2” Orientation: East Inscription: IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH FRASER BELOVED WIFE OF MOSES SOMERS WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE SEPT. 19, 1887. AGED 72 YRS. MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE “THE SOULS OF THE JUST ARE IN THE HAND OF GOD, AND THE SHALL NOT” – [cut off] Material: Limestone Condition: Stone has moss and lichen cover, and despite its age, is
surviving deterioration fairly well. Elizabeth Fraser was the wife of Moses Somers, an Irish farmer, and had
seven children. The 1871 census indicates that they were fairly well off.
They owned 250 acres of land, 3 barns/stables, 3 carriages, for
