Here we are looking back towards the lens array. Every surface is decorated even though not normally visible when the box is assembled. The candle holders have been removed, but you can see the holes that exit from at the top of the upper deck.

The reason for making the lens-array removable is uncertain, but it might have been to display the wonderful interior. That would mean that, when not in use, this box was a display item, likely in a wealthy home.
