8. Samuel Mills. This is tentative identification based on Colin and Christina MacDonald’s (1985) list which places Samuel Mills as the next person after Angus MacDonald, father of Cutie. This is the first house on the way up out of Cutie’s Hollow going west.

The cellar is oriented 38º (northeast). In the photos the dimension left-right is 18 ft and across is 27 ft. There may have been a small extension off the northeast side.

This view is northeast across the cellar. The brook leading to James River is down the slope to the right.
