1817 petitions of Thomas Dalhunty and John Kelly both young and unmarried men ...humbly herewith your petitioners, Thomas Dalhunty has been in the country of Tipperary in Ireland that he's a carpenter, cabinetmaker and wheelwright that he is resided in Antigonish in the county of Sydney there 18 months last half; also that your petitioner John Kelly was born in the County of Derry in Ireland that he has resided in Antigonish aforesaid these 18 months and that their intention is to settle in this county that they have never [something] any land from [the] government and that they have the means and their intention is to cultivate the land provided they can obtain it; they therefore made that your Excellency will be  pleased to grant your petitioners as much land never before granted as your Excellency may deem [something ..bla bla] signed with "x"s [both sworn an oath of allegiance]
