John (Sandy) Alexander MacDonald (Georgeville\BLDW60_4197.html)

This is a house site on the north side of the Rear Georgeville Road.  Bernie MacIsaac had located the cellar earlier, but we could not find it when we retuned with him.  The 1893 Geological Survey Map has the site closer to the road.  He located the cellar in November almost exactly where the Geological Survey map had placed the house.  It is a small foundation (25 by 20 ft.?) with a chimney in the centre and cellar under one half.  Bernie remembers the site in 1940 being heavily wooded with 60 to 70 year old trees on the cellar wall (this would have it abandoned in 1870 or 1880, the Geological Survey map has the house here in 1883).

It is only about 350 metres east of a site he indicated on his 1952 topo map as belonging to Dan MacLean.
