Fraser House site (Eigg Mountain Settlement History)  (Map Location)

This cellar is 14 metres west of what we are assuming was the main Fraser house on this property.  It was a big surprise to Charlie who recalls a stone cellar like the main Fraser house, but not one of this description and not so close to the main house.  He is speculating that this may have been the original log house and that the cellar was earthen, without stone walls.  We discovered it May 3, 2008.

The cellar measures 18 by 22 ft with the 22 ft wall oriented south at 19 degrees.  The cellar is now only 3 ft deep and no rocks are visible.
