MacDonald, Trunk (Eigg Mountain Settlement History)

Figure 1 – Stereo Pair of Cellar

This view is looking east across the cellar towards the camp. The house extended out over the cleared level area. The grounds are kept trim my the weekend inhabitants of Maple Lodge. June, 2018.

This house site is east of the current Maple Lodge.  The Teasdales say it was Angus Rory’s house.  However the grants plans indicate this plot as having belonged to Donald MacDonald from 1833 to 1859.  There is a plot on the brow of the mountain to the NE that belonged to a Rory MacDonald in 1858 and an Angus MacDonald in 1867.
