Introduction to Enterprise
Resource Planning

OVERVIEW
|
This
is an introductory course in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and is
normally taken in the second year by
Information Systems or Business Students. This course requires INFO102 and
BSAD 102. Students without the background may request permission from the
instructor to take the course.
This course is intended to provide students with
an introduction to the concept of business processes: the way that
organizations perform work to add value and how Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) Systems support business processes. At the end of the
course, students will have an understanding of the importance of ERP
systems to modern organizations as well as an understanding of the
complexity associated with developing and implementing ERP
solutions. Students also gain some hands-on experience, through
lab exercises, with a leading ERP packages, SAP and Syspro.
