The following are reports concerning the social research papers and reports which are relevant to the GBEP project. They arranged chronologically, as to when they were presented on this site.

Fish Harvesters' Ecological Knowledge Survey Study - Report to those fishermen who participated in the Survey: By Dan MacInnes, January 19th, 1999. This contains a summary of the results.

Fish Harvesters' Ecological Knowledge Survey Study: By Dan MacInnes, January 19th, 1999. This survey took place in the summer of 1998. These are the exact questions that were asked to the surveyed fishermen.

Fishing Port Histories within St. Georges Bay: By Ray MacIsaac, December 27th, 1998. This provides an introduction to the Ports within the St. Georges Bay area, along with a brief history and pictures.

Selected review of Social Research Literature: June 14th, 1998. The following annotation regards characteristics of methods employed by social science researchers for the collection of Fish Harvester Ecological Knowledge. The first goal of this research team is to construct a reliable instrument for the collection of this type of local knowledge. Properly collected and integrated with scientific knowledge, Fish Harvester Ecological Knowledge may give insight into the St. Georges' Bay ecosystem previously unknown. The following was compiled by Ray MacIsaac, an ISAR student of social science, under the guidance of Dr. Anthony Davis and Dr. Daniel MacInnes. 

Bringing Fishers' Knowledge into Fisheries Science and Management: A Methodological Workshop. May 29-31,1998 Memorial University, St.John's, Nfld. June 14th, 1998. On behalf of ISAR department of St. Francis Xavier University, and with the financial assistance of the faculty of Arts, Dr. Dan MacInnnes attended this workshop. The following are notes and impressions of the workshop, intended to inform the research work being undertaken on St. Georges Bay Ecosystem Project.
