Drawing Free Sites

Use the Free Sites tool to increment or decrement the number of free sites in a query structure.

To increment the number of Free Sites:

1. On the Query tools palette, click the Free Site tool.

2. Position the pointer over the atom to which you want to apply free sites.

3. Click to add the symbol.

4. Continue to click the atom to increment the free site number.

To decrement the number of free sites:

• Hold the Option key while clicking the atom.

You can also change the free sites by using the Atom Properties dialog box or the shortcut menu. For more information see "Atom Properties".
