Evaluation:
       2 major exams, 2 quizzes, and 10 assignments comprise 85% of the final mark; the lab component accounts for 15% of the final grade.   The final course mark is normally calculated in the following way:
 
Assignments         10 %
2 quizzes                20 %
Mid-year exam       20 %
Final exam              35 %        
Lab                           15 %
                                  100 %

    PLEASE NOTE:


The lecture component (85%) and the lab component (15%) must each be passed
separately in order to receive a passing grade for the course. The passing grade for the lab is 65%.  In addition, if a student fails to complete more than 3 labs  (for whatever reason), a failing grade will be assigned for the course. A complete lab means carrying out the designated procedure and submitting a completed lab report for that procedure.

LAB MANUAL MUST BE PURCHASED ($15 CASH) INTO YOUR FIRST LAB  ON SEPT. 18 FOR CHEM-100/11/A AND SEPT. 20 FOR CHEM-100/11/B    as well as

Lab coat ($15) and safety glasses ($5)
