(Eigg Mountain Settlement History)

This site is on the east side of the road leading north from the Main road of Brown’s Mountain.  It is not indicated on any of the old maps.

Since it is the next site up from John Colin MacDonald’s it may be John MacDonald indicated on Colin and Christina MacDonald’s list (1985).

The foundation is roughly square (23 by 24ft) with the 24 ft. side oriented at 348º (i.e. north-south).  The shallow cellar was dug on the west half.  The house may have faced downhill towards the road or south towards the sun.

These paired pictures are looking north.
