5. John (Brewer) MacDonald. Colin and Christina MacDonald list the Brewer as the fifth occupied house “from Dan MacEachern to Dunmaglass.” We currently have 5 house foundations between Dan MacEachern and the Brewer, so one house is unaccounted for.

The brewer’s house was famous according to Charlie as a stopping point for travelers crossing between Northumberland Strait wherever they were going across Browns Mountain.

The site now overlooks the Glen Dhu wind farm.

The house foundation is oriented 290º (west). The west wall is approximately 30 ft. and the north wall is approximately 26 ft. the cellar lies a little closer to the south wall.
