Mooney Family (Eigg Mountain Settlement History)

The two Andrews, James and John (presumably sons of Andrew Sr.) emigrated from Ireland in 1821 and petitioned for land in that year (see petition).  This was the land granted in M_135 in 1828.  Assuming they settled before the grant was made official, they would have predated Ranald Fraser as the first pioneers on Eigg Mountain.

Thomas Mooney (son of Andrew)

John Mooney (indicated on M_135, 1828, below James Mooney on Brown’s Mountain)

James, Andrew and John, the Brown’s Mountain Mooney’s were granted land in the same Grant (M_135) as Andrew Jr. on Eigg Mountain)
